For homeowners

Homeowner Terms of Service

These are the terms on which we give you a guide price and introduce you to a builder. We have tried to write them in plain English rather than legal language.

Last updated: 26 July 2026

1. Who we are

Postyx is a service operated by Mohamed Soltan, a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom, trading as Postyx, of Flat 7, 455–455A New Cross Road, London, SE14 6TA, contactable at hello@postyx.uk.

In these terms, "we", "us", and "Postyx" mean that operator, and "you" means the homeowner using our service.

2. What Postyx does — and what it does not do

Postyx helps homeowners find trusted builders. When you tell us about a job, we give you an indicative guide price. If you would like to go further, we arrange a site visit to understand the work properly and agree a price with you. Once you are happy, we introduce you to a builder we consider suitable.

Postyx is an introducer. We are not a builder, and we are not a party to any contract you enter into with a builder.

Any building work you go ahead with is a contract directly between you and the builder. We do not carry out the work, we do not employ the builder, and we are not responsible for the quality, safety, timing, or completion of the work, or for any dispute between you and the builder. We will do our best to help if something goes wrong, but we are not liable for the builder's performance.

3. Guide prices are indicative only

Any price we show you before a site visit is a guide range based on typical local costs — not a quote and not a fixed price. It is worked out from a table of typical project costs for your area and the type of job you chose. It is not a valuation of your specific property or project.

Your actual price depends on the specifics of your job and is confirmed after a site visit. It only becomes binding once it has been set out for you and you have agreed to it. You should not rely on the guide price as the final cost, and we are not bound by it.

4. Introductions and builder vetting

We take reasonable steps to check the builders we introduce. However, we do not guarantee any builder's work, conduct, credentials, or availability.

You are responsible for satisfying yourself that a builder is suitable before entering into any contract, including checking their insurance, references, and any accreditations relevant to your job. We recommend you get written terms and a written quote directly from any builder before work begins.

5. Your control over your details

We will not pass your contact details to a builder unless and until you ask us to, or agree to us doing so.

You stay in control of who contacts you. You can ask us to stop contacting you, or to remove your details, at any time — see our Homeowner Privacy Notice.

6. No cost to you

Using Postyx to get a guide price and an introduction is free to you as a homeowner. If this ever changes, we will tell you clearly before you incur any cost.

This is separate from anything you agree to pay a builder for the work itself, which is a matter between you and them.

7. Your responsibilities

You agree to give us accurate information about your job and your contact details, and to use the service in good faith.

You must not use Postyx for any unlawful purpose, or to submit jobs you do not genuinely intend to proceed with.

8. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 where they apply.

If anything in these terms conflicts with your statutory rights, your statutory rights take precedence.

9. Our liability to you

We provide the introduction service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the acts, omissions, or work of any builder, for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from information you provide that is inaccurate.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.

10. Data protection

We handle your personal data in line with our Homeowner Privacy Notice, and in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published here when you use the service.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
